THiNC® is Okuma’s Windows XP-based CNC machine control. THiNC
harnesses the power of Windows technology to make the control
more interactive in both the manufacturing and business
environments of today’s machine shops.
THiNC is a highly reliable, easy to use control system
capable of integration with new generations of software and
hardware technology.
Intelligent by Application
As computational power continues
to increase and costs decrease, OKUMA machine tools will become more
intelligent, more flexible, more adaptive to changing
conditions and requirements, more fault tolerant, easier to
program and use - in short, more productive independent of human
intervention. THiNC gives customers this power today and in the
future!
Business environments are changing. To sustain the industry, the machine control must do more than respond to programming. It has to think for itself. THiNC combines the pure control functions of Okuma's gold standard E-series OSP with a PC-based operating platform. The Intelligent Numerical Control functionality can be grouped into four areas:
- Control: THiNC is foremost a machine tool control.
- Basic: THiNC allows for integration with third party software and hardware. Has the ability to download programs, deliver production schedules and document procedures in Word® and Excel®. THiNC can be easily adapted by any business.
- Intermediate: New application program interfaces can be built to utilize real time data for collection, analysis and feedback to the real time task. THiNC improves efficiency by expanding available technology with customized software applications.
- Advanced: THiNC is designed to inspire innovation. Advanced applications include true smart machining where real time data can result in real time changes in the operating dynamics of the machine - spindle speed, feed rate, position, acceleration - automatically as a result of self aware control technology.
The THiNC TANK also incorporates the ADMAC and MACMAN systems.
Autonomous Design, Manufacturing and Advanced CNC (ADMAC) automates the process of modifying,
simulating and testing a machining program. With ADMAC, you can:
- Easily perform shape-edit operations such as modifying dimensions and adding a chamfering process.Create a program just by drawing those sections required for machining. Easily navigate the process using operation procedure guides throughout the program creation. Utilize your own technology using various machining parameters.
- Check program in 3D simulation with realistic representation of actual machining.

MACMAN is an onboard flight recorder that collects data about the machine, its performance and operating condition.
- View the status of machines and collect MACMAN data in real-time to create a more productive technology center.
- Tap the power of the Internet to observe your machines in action.
- Diagnose problems off site using remote control software.
